Hmmm, I don't know, Hungary's current version of "mob democracy" is pretty entertaining ....

Not if you live there, I'm afraid.

But is it not typical that the people who believes they will belong to the next set of leaders want to limit the "mob democracy"?

Similar fun to hear that Fidesz mayor Rogan (Bp V) want up to 3 years in jail for "rowdy demonstrators". Think about the outcry if that would be suggested by anyone from the "other side"...

My connections inside Jobbik have been waiting this over a year now from Fidesz as preparation for their take-over. They have no illusions that the "Kossuth-demonstrators" (they are not Jobbik-people) will disappear, so Fidesz's need to handle the situation. The question is just tactical, when - before the elections (together with MSZP and risk a debate before the election) or after the elections (if they are sure to get 2/3 majority in the new Parliament).

It is a dirty game.

"If the law governing the holding of plebescites had not been changed in 1997, this year's referendum wouldn't have been valid."

Actually Eva, turnout for all three referendum questions was above 50%, meaning that yes, they would still have been valid under the old rules.
