Odin's lost eye

To every one who reads this blog I am sorry for my ranting but I lawlessness of this type to overthrow a lawful government and the democracy that put it in place makes my blood boil!
@Prof Balogh to quote from your article
*** “I'll bet that if Orbán managed to take over the reins of government tomorrow Hungary would instantly have a police force whose members wouldn't be spat on; no stones, no eggs, no cucumbers or tomatoes would be thrown at them. Or if somebody did any of these things he would be duly and severely punished” ***
What do you think the thugs of the Magyar Guard/Army are for? Why does Orban support them? They are to be his ‘rottweilers’. Szálasi had his arrow cross mob and Rakosi the AVH/AVO. Orban will have his Magyar Guard/Army. They will be used to stamp out any form of dissent, rig elections (if Orban bothers to hold any more as he, in his mind, has become the Messiah) etc. I think that Europe will be ‘lead quite a merry little dance’ by that one before it is all over!
The picture you have included should have lead to charges of ‘Riotous Assembly’, ‘assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duties’, ‘causing an affray’ etc. In some ways the police lacked imagination in formulating charges against those involved. If you bring petty charges then the response from the judiciary is also petty.
There will always be persons like Krisztina Morvai who, for their own reasons, seek to paint the police as aggressive thugs.
I listened to Orban speech at the Astoria and whilst I could not understand what he said his body language emoted almost a paranoid hatred.
An analysis of his speech could have resulted in a charge of ‘inciting and encouraging a riot’. Nasty stuff! There are limits to free speech, like thou shall not speak murder/GBH, overthrow of the lawful government by insurrection or incite people to riot/cause criminal damage etc.
There is a danger that if the judiciary do not take the charges made by the police seriously the ‘ordinary coppers’ will take matters into their own hands and administer ‘lynch law’ retribution on those who attack them. Policemen are only human beings after all is said and done.
I wonder how many of the rioters would have been happy if some other group of nurks had set fire to their cars, smashed up their little businesses or force their wifes to flee the area whilst trying to shelter their baby from the tear gas that the rioters have caused the police to use.
You also add *** “The only hope is that perhaps the new, still not nominated chief justice and some of the big brass will realize that judicial decisions that tolerate force against Hungarian citizens and Hungarian institutions are a threat to Hungarian democracy” ***.
I fear that this a forlorn hope, Orban and Fides have everyone so terrified of what they will do to them, that no one will do anything to even seem to offend them. The memories of Rakosi and Recsk are still very real in their minds!
I do wish that the Europeans would make public the slapping Orban got from José Barroso and Co when he went to see them to get their help in forcing Hungary to hold early elections.
